TV Cabinet

This week I finished building a TV Cabinet for a client who was getting rid of a huge projection style TV to a slimline flat screen. In the picture below you can see how massive this TV looks. To maintain the same height of the TV the customer wanted to add some kind of cabinet to store CD's, DVD's, etc.
This cabinet I made is 20" tall x 15" deep and 52" long. The existing shelf units you see in picture below will still be used. They will butt up against this new cabinet.
I used Red Oak plywood for the main body and used rough cut red oak from my local saw mill for doors, drawer fronts, top and front face frame. As you can see the center area has drawers and adjustable shelf in the side compartments. For the finish I used was Minwax Satin Poly. Three coats applied by using my HPLV Earlex Spray System. Spraying Poly is easy to apply.
This project was fully custom made. I designed using 'SketchUp" I use this same program for all my project designs. This is a great design software. I highly recommend using.

  1. I love this, the cabinet looks fantastic quality and I'm sure it's built to last. The thing I find with shop bought furniture these days, is that it's not built like it used to be. It looks great all set up with the TV on, I need to convince my husband to build me one now! Amazing craftsmanship, so well built!
